I have the new Windows Vista and I am using Windows Mail and I have been
having this problem just the last 4 days. I didn't change any settings or did
anything in the computer.

This is the message that I get:
"The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be
correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this
problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the
"I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining
the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.

The rejected e-mail address was '(e-mail address removed)'. Subject
'Pestanas postizas', Account: 'mail.bellsouth.net', Server:
'mail.bellsouth.net', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '550 [PERMFAIL]
destination not valid within DNS', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error:
550, Error Number: 0x800CCC79"

I call my ISP provider and they said that there was no problems with my
connection or system... I'd appreciate any help, I'm going nuts trying to fix
this thing, thanks!

You did not mention that this problem only exists with this one
email address, but I have a hunch that is the case.
Although the domain vencedor.com.pe exists, the name servers
for that domain are extremely sluggish. You can check for yourself
by going to
http://www.dnsstuff.com/tools/dnsreport.ch?domain=vencedor.com.pe

Ping and Tracert (technical stuff) also failed.
Ask your correspondent for a different email address. Most people
have an alternate Hotmail address for just such an occasion.

Thanks for your prompt reply Gary. Yes I am only having problems with this
address, at the desktop computer and on my laptop. Sometimes I receive mails
from that domain, sometimes I don't.

So is this problem originating on their end? I mean, can I just wash my
hands and leave it to them to fix this problem? :)
This thing is making me nuts...

Yes, the problem is strictly with the ISP at the other end.

The vencedor.com.pe machine either doesn't exist or doesn't have a DNS
entry. In other words, the problem is with the address you are trying to
send mail to.
