This is a case of : If the hardware does not do it, the software is not
going to "make up" for that feature.

Why do you want to turn off HyperThreading anyway?

It makes some tasks run slower.
Anyway.. installing XP it asks for HT support. It's strange it cannot be
disabled after installation..

On the processes/apps it makes slower, could you not adjust processor
affinity and put it all on one or the other processor?

I think it's not possible.
My software can use just one processor for some task, both for others.
I cannot think a logical way to force it to use both virtual processors
everytime.

Try the BIOS. As its the BIOS that should
have the setting for Hyperthreading. And it's the
BIOS that determines, whether the CPU uses HT
or not.

Yes. and I find it very hard to believe that an ASUS motherboard's bios
does not have this option. Look deeper, or contact ASUS.

Hmm ok bring up task manager, highlight
the program u want to fix/set affinity and untick CPU
0. See if that works
