hyperlinks

Hyperlinks in my Word documents are underlined and blue and look like
hyperlinks but I can't click on them and get to that internet site like I
could when I used to use WordPerfect.

Try Ctrl+click. If that works, and if you want to be able to just click
instead of Ctrl+click, click on Tools | Options | Edit | uncheck the
"Use CTRL + Click to follow hyperlinks" box | OK. If neither click nor
Ctrl+click work, then maybe you're not looking at a real hyperlink, but
just some blue underlined text.

Thanks. I was able to uncheck the "Use CTRL + Click to follow hyperlinks" so
now I can click on and go to the links for new links I just made. The old
ones from wordPerfect documents still don't work though. I'd also like to
find a way to get rid of the warning popup about viruses that comes up before
I can go to the link.

Applying the Hyperlink style does not make a piece of text into a hyperlink.
If you have "Internet and network paths with hyperlinks" enabled on the
AutoFormat As You Type tab of Tools | AutoCorrect Options, you can probably
place the insertion point at the end of the URL and press the Spacebar and
the conversion will occur. If not, if you have this option enabled in
AutoFormat, you can select the link and press the AutoFormat button. Failing
that, select the link, press Ctrl+K, then OK.

I can't really understand all that, but one of the other posts turned me on
to AutoFormat which works pretty good for making the links from my
WordPerfect documents active again. It makes some of the other stuff look
weird (bold, etc.), but that doesn't matter for this since the documents are
basically list of links anyway. I still got the popup virus warning
annoyance, but I'll live with it.
