Hyperlinks to Word-Bookmarks

I want to link an object to a specific "booked marked" paragraph in a Word
doc. The link opens the Word doc successfully. When I try an add the book
mark via the "Edit Hyperlink" screens "Bookmark" button I get the following
error message:

"Microsoft PowerPoint could not open this file or could not parse a file of
this type."

The file name contain only alpha characters.
Is this functionality available in PP?

You can create an AutoOpen macro in your Word document that goes to the
bookmark. That way when you click the link from PowerPoint and the document
opens, the AutoOpen macro will run (assuming you have your Macro Security
set to MEDIUM).

on the Word NewsGroup site.

It sound as if this method will only open to one "bookmark" and I need at
least 10 different ones.

Add hyperlink to Word document, then add a space( ) and a number/pound sign
(#) and the name of the bookmark.

C:\Documents and Settings\Bill\My Documents\Hyper to Bookmark.doc
#TestBookMark

Thanks Bill D.,

The syntax "filename.ext #bookmark1" worked great. NOW my only problem is
getting back and forth:
click on PP object - to Word bookmark - click on Word bookmark, which I
added a link back to PP presentation - clicking on another PP object - links
back to the previous bookmark. Any PP object links to first linked bookmark.
Closing Word each time links a PP object to the correct Word bookmark.

Any ideas how the link path to the correct bookmark can be refreshed?

Probably, the best solution to get back to the original presentation is just
to close the DOC file. I suppose you could put an action button on the Word
document that closes the document, but the little x in the upper right
corner works regardless of end-users macro security setting in Word.

Include the DOC files in the same folder as the PPT and remove the path part
of the hyperlink. This should make the hyperlink relative and tell
PowerPoint to look for the DOC file in it's own folder.

To return to a different place in the original PPT, you will need to venture
into VBA.
