If i follow a hyperlink from Outlook Express, i get a blank Internet
Explorer screen with animated timer.

Then if i hit 'stop' the correct URL appears in the address bar but i get
'action cancelled' in the main window.

But if i hit 'refresh' it works fine.
This doesn't affect 'favorites' or pages from history.

It was ok until i did a bit of a clean up recently, deleted all temp,
prefetch, recent, temp internet files, then ran the Blueyonder Instant
Support tool
which disabled automatic proxy detection and set the packet size.

Is there a cmd i can run to force a default reset ??

Or any other ideas where to look.

Thanks

Hi Brian Day,
Open the RUN command and type the following: regsvr32 urlmon.dll and click OK.
Again the RUN command and type : CMD Click OK on the Opening prompt command
C:\>ipconfig /flushdns Press Enter on your Keyboard/Keypad then Type exit.
Reboot your computer and see if you can access these links.

Well Guys, It's not good - i've tried most remedies but still not working.
I'll carry on messing with it & if i sort it (without a format) i'll post
back.

Thanks all the same for your replies

Brian,

If you click on links in OE mail and news and they do not work, it's because
Outlook Express is not your default mail and news program and IE is not your
default browser. Do this:
1--In Outlook Express, go to Tools | Options and make sure that
"Make Outlook Express my default mail program" and
"Make Outlook Express my default news reader are checked.
2--In IE, go to View | Internet Options | Programs
and select OE for mail and news.
Also, be sure "Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the
default browser" is checked.

Listed in no particular order.
