hyperlinks in powerpoint

I am doing a powerpoint presentation. I am trying to create a hyperlink to a
word file, but does not come up as a finished page, it comes up as a the file
in word with the toolbars. how do i get the file to be linked to the
presentation as a finished product. any help would be appreciated

That's the way links to document files work ... PowerPoint does the equivalent
of doubleclicking the file; the file launches in whatever app "owns" it, just
as though you'd doubleclicked it manually.

You could try copy/pasting the page from Word into PPT or doing a screenshot of
the document in page view and inserting that into PPT.

That'd also prevent the links from breaking later.
