Hyperlinks Damaged -- Conv. Word 2000 to Word 2003

I bought Office 2003 almost as soon as it came out, and love it, except for one thing (a HUGE thing):

I write software manuals and other instructional documents and use hyperlinks extensively. In Word 2000, they worked wonderfully. In Word 2003, however, the hyperlinks seem to work when you navigate TO a page, but not when you attempt to use the "Back" arrow to return to the link.

I've now worked on most of my documents in Office 2003, so there's no going back. Is there some way to fix this problem?

Are you using the Back button on the Web toolbar? It seems to work for me.

Yes I am, but it is not working. Were your documents converted from Word 2000 as mine are, or were they created in Word 2003?

Hi Nancy,

I created a document in Word 2000 and then opened it in Word 2003 and
tried the links.

Try starting Word using the /a switch. This will load Word using the
defaults and see if the problem still occurs. Go to Start/Run and run:

winword /a

Note the space before the forward slash.

You'll find you need to hold Ctrl and click the hyperlink since this
is a default setting.
