Hopefully i choose the right section to post this
question in. i am creating a booklet of sorts with a
table of contents and i want to have each sesction
hyperlinked (the booklet is quite long and it would save
scrolling). i can do that part. but i also want to have a
return to menu on the bottom of each page. i have tried
putting the hyperlink in a footer but then it won't work
unless you are viewing the header and footer. is there a
way to do it without having to manually put it on each
page.

INSERT / Bookmark / assign a name (shorter the better.)
Insert / Hyperlink/ Select Bookmark

The Back button on the Web toolbar already provides this functionality.

Chad

Also, in recent versions of Word there is a GoToTOC button that can be added
to a toolbar.
