Hyperlink to Outlook E-Mail note?

Can I create a Hyperlink in Excel to an Outlook E-Mail
note (there is an attachment on the E-Mail note that I
want the Hyperlink to point to and have users be able to
access the attachment)?

Or do I have to save the E-Mail note to a directory to
create the Hyperlink?

copying the complete URL to the email will cause a
hyperlink to be generated. Be careful not to include any
stray characters with the hyperlink or it may not find it.

Be aware, only you will be able to use that hyperlink unless your HDD
is networked, shared, and visible to others.

Upon reflection, I am wondering if you mean that the item is in a public
folder on an exchange server?

If so, you should be able to link to it and have anyone else be able to use
the link.

If the item is in a PST file on your HDD, then my comment above stands.

Alan, thanks for your help.

The file is on a public folder, but it is in outlook.

When I am in the Hyperlink section and choose Browse file,
it wants to look for a PC file. It is NOT an PC file, it
is an attachment in an E-Mail note.

I could save the attachment to the network, but what a
waste of traffic, space.

I see what you are saying now - sorry for being slow!

I just had a play around, and I cannot see any way for you to link to a
specific item that is on an exchange server, unless you are linking from
within an outlook item (email, task, calendar entry etc.).

However, that doesn't mean it can't be done.

I would suggest that you re-direct this query to the Outlook discussion
groups. It is not an excel specific issue in that if you can do it from
excel you can do it from any other office application or, more generally,
using a hyperlink from any application whatsover. Similarly, the converse
is true - if you can find any solution, you can probably fit it to excel.

Sorry for not being more help - perhaps someone else here might be able to
point you in the right direction though?

Alan.
