I’m having a similar problem as Phillip Ketcher, I want to create relative paths for my hyperlinks so that when they are move from one drive/path to another I don’t have to reset some 50 or 60 links. I’m using WORD 2003 and when I set a Hyperlink I click on “Insert†then “Hyperlink…†and a nice neat box appears displaying a list of files of the directory I’m working in when I select one of the file the absolute Path gets lock in (example: “///C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\VB98\Drafting Help\Viewer\Doc1.docâ€). A right clicking with the mouse displays an “Edit function†but this only bring up the same “nice neat†box which only allows me to redirect the path not edit it. I can not find a direct way to enter or modify a Hyperlink path in WORD 2003.

Never used 2003, but can you get around the problem by editing the field
directly? Press Alt-F9 to display field codes, then manually delete the
unwanted path information from within the HYPERLINK field. If the files all
come from the same folder, use Find and Replace to do them all at once.
