hyperlink opens OE instead of Outlook

Hi,

I have ie 6 sp1 and MS Office 2000 sr-1 on a windows 98se
machine. when i click on a hyperlink whose target
is "mailto:<email addy>". it opens up an email message
for outlook express instead of MS Outlook.

the mail program is already set to Outlook on the programs
tab of internet options in IE....

how do i get it to open an email message in Outlook?

To set Outlook 98, 2000 or 2002(XP) as the default mail client,- Go to
Start, Run - Type in the following with quotation marks and press OK
"C:\program files\microsoft office\office\outlook.exe" /checkclient
