Hi Nick,
It's not clear why the blue default color for the links would make them nonprinting. It's the same default color used in Internet
Explorer.
You can minimize the ribbon by using ctrl+F1 or double clicking on a ribbon tab. There isn't any customization of the Ribbon
elements built in that can be accessed from within the program but the ribbon can be customized from 'outside' (programmatically or
via manual XML editing).
There are a couple of ways you can change the hyperlink color.
One is to have the links be plain text rather than workable links. To do that bring up the Auto options dialog via the keyboard
(Alt, T, A) and turn off the
Autoformat=>Replace=>Internet and network paths with hyperlinks
and
Autoformat as you type =>Replace=>Internet and network paths with hyperlinks
settings.
Another is to change the color settings for the Hyperlink and Followed Hyperlink styles. With the cursor in the hyperlink, you can
use Shift+F1 and click on the 'Character Style' link in the 'Reveal formatting' pane that comes up then click the 'Modify' button
and change the color to black. (Alternate method, on the Home Tab click the Styles Launcher (the square at the bottom right of
'Styles' the choose the 'Manage Styles' button at the bottom of that pane, and in the 'Edit Tab' switch to 'Alphabetical' listing
and modif the Followed-Hyperlink and 'Hyperlink' colors there.

Hi
I have never really understood the Styles menus on earlier versions of Word
and am at my wits's end with one niggling issue in Wrd 2007!:
How do I change the colour (to black) that Word automatically formats
hyperlinks in - because it never shows up on B&W printers, otherwise?
Also, is there a way I can get rid of all those Style buttons that I never
use and clutter up the top of the screen, Please?
Thanks.
