"new dual processor",hyperthreading makes one act as 2 in xp,no it doesnt.
2 Actual processors,usually means a servers board,then the 2 xeon processors
dont have hyperthreading available for them,xp wont mind that either...
Windows XP can distinguish between a single CPU with hyperthreading
and two separate CPU chips installed on the same motherboard.
Windows XP Home will happily accept a hyperthreading CPU and will make
full use of the hyperthreading capabilities. The Performance tab in
Task Manager will show two CPU graphs if there is a hyperthreading CPU
installed.
Windows XP Pro will happily accept either one or two hyperthreading
CPUs installed on the same motherboard and with 2 hyperthreading CPUs
Task Manager will show 4 CPU graphs on the Performance tab.
Hope this explains the situation.
Good luck
