hehe, hasnt that always been there, even since Win 95? :D

I always just push the CD tray shut on my CD Writer, possibly not the best idea to do! Thankfully I have a slot DVD player that takes most of the punishment!

Yup, I've got that on mine and have done for a while now - open/close tray... I just never do it via the computer :)
 
Ummmm... I have XP Pro, Nero (latest), Direct CD (latest), SP1 - those are the only things I can think of that could effect it...

I have a Sony 12/8/36 burner too, IDE, not sure what model

I've just finished a new system in the workshop and ... nope, "close tray" is NOT there!

I have a similar set-up at home to this system and I've meticulously checked after every piece of software being installed. No sign of it.

I have found a Shareware program that will do it for you but nowhere on the net can I find anything else about it? I don't have that program either.

I have Nero 5.5.9.2, cloneCD 4.2, SPI on XP pro & a Lite-On 48.12.48 burner with the firmware updated ... so the only REAL common denominator between us is XP & SP1 ... no? Yet other people have the same OS & updates and NO "close Tray"????

Now this is annoying me.... :crazy:
 
I'll take a look on my PC back at home (not at uni) and see if that has the same 'feature', as it has a similar setup!

We think it may be CloneCD update ... I never got the chance to install it on the workshop computer but will give it a go on Monday.

I just updated Clone CD 4.2.0.1 to V4.2.0.2 and I don't have that icon.

I've also looked for it, ways to enable it, etc., but as far as I can see, it just ain't there :confused:
 
Not meaning to dig up an old topic, but did you ever solve the mystery mucks? :confused:
 
NOPE!

... I can still open & close the CD trays, now all I need is something to lift the CD out. :D
 
It's a 'shared' symbol for Networks, isn't it?

Since I've networked, I be having hands all over the place :D
