Huge front-end file

Hi everyone,

I went to backup our database files, but I noticed that our
frontend.mdb is 154MB. I don't understand why it's so large if all the
data is in linked tables. I can't imagine our queries/forms/reports
taking up 154MB considering our backend with thousands of entries is
only 42MB. Any ideas?

Try this..

tools->Database Utilities->Compact And Repair Database

Maybe someone has done some importing and deleted it afterwards. Have you
tried compacting the front_end(s) to see if the size will decrease? You might
have to do some monitoring to see how fast the front_end is growing....

The compact utility shrunk the file down to 2MB and the backend to
10MB. Thanks for the tip, never knew that utility existed.

Also, do you have any embedded pictures in the forms or reports? That will
cause that type of growth for sure.
