https problems

I am having a problem with accessing all https sites from IE 6.0. This appears to be a problem occurring at the machine-level and I first noticed it after accessing the Internet via a hotel high-speed connection.

This is extremely frustrating because I need to login to a number of different sites that use SSL for encryption and authentication. Whenever I try to login to a site as soon as it hits the https connection I get a browser page telling me that the page cannot be displayed.

Can anyone can give me any ideas how I might fix this problem?

If you installed the latest IE update, it denies support for
username:password@.... type log in for security since apparently the
form is easy to spoof and MS is too lazy to secure IE at its roots.
