With all these RPC viruses infecting Windows computers, I thought I would
see if there are any more security updates on the Windows Update web site.
I ran IE6 in WinXP SP1 (Home Edition) and the URL changes three times. It
starts with this URL:

http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/

changes to this URL for about 30 seconds:

http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.asp

and then changes to this URL:

http://v6.winupdate.microsoft.com/en/updates.asp

What's up with the Windows Update web site?

I do not have any virus infections on the computer as I keep this XP system
updated on those daily or weekly security updates along with constantly
updating the anti-virus definitions from Symantec. I also have a firewall
on my Internet connection.

Where can XP users download these updates to save and install to other XP
computers with much slower Internet connections? Seems like the Windows
Update web site is unsafe and should be avoided.
