With all these RPC viruses infecting Windows computers, I thought I would
see if there are any more security updates on the Windows Update web site.
I ran IE6 in WinXP SP1 (Home Edition) and the URL changes three times. It
starts with this URL:
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/
changes to this URL for about 30 seconds:
http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.asp
and then changes to this URL:
http://v6.winupdate.microsoft.com/en/updates.asp
What's up with the Windows Update web site?
I do not have any virus infections on the computer as I keep this XP system
updated on those daily or weekly security updates along with constantly
updating the anti-virus definitions from Symantec. I also have a firewall
on my Internet connection.
