Have your domains been registered with your
new host for at least 48 hours??

Have you or your new host pointed your domains
to the proper domain name servers for your new location,
and if they have has it been at least 48 hours since they did so??

| Hi Folks, new to the forum..
| I am having issues trying to publish via http.
|
| I own a few websites and have always published via ftp. I decided to
| switch hosting companies as my current one couldnt handle fp extensions
| correctly.
|
| anyway , this new hosting co.. I am unable to publish via http. I have
| read many tutorials and it all looks straight forward.
| My new hosting co has confirmed that frontpage extensions are now
| installed and its enabled through my control panel also.
|
| I open my web, goto publish, then enter my http//yourdomain.com at this
| point it fails to connect stating that there is an error, fp extensions
| may not be installed, unavailable, proxy error etc(standard dialogue
| box i think).. to be honest i dont think its even trying to
| connect...its just too quick.

Hi, Joe.

You might want to make sure that your domain is already
(the dns) transfrred to your hosting co. They say it
usually takes up to 72 hrs. (Or you could use your
temporary URL). Also, did you name your root web
index.htm? As this is necessary in http publishing.

Regards,

José

"Also, did you name your root web
index.htm?"

Actually, the name of the default page is determined by the host. It may or
may not be index.htm. Could be one of several. Check with the host to see
what they require.
