Http:// not automatically filling in when address typed into addy

This is a wierd problem Im having on my Winxp machine. I have Internet
Explorer 6 installed. Whenever I type in an address into the address bar, i
get a message that the address cannot be found and to make sure that the path
is correct.

The problem is that the address bar doesnt automatically fill in the http://
portion of the address, leaving me to have to type it in every time. OF
course this isnt a severe problem, but its just a pain to do it everytime.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi,

The prefixes might have been damaged. Sandi has a solution for this at
http://inetexplorer.mvps.org/archive/answers_8.htm. It's a file you can
import in the regsitry.
