HTML Selected but still sends Winmail.dat

Something bizarre has been happening for the last week in Outlook 2003.
I recently installed SP1, but don't know if this coincides, or is
causing the problem.

I have HTML selected as the default email type (please note.. NOT
Rich-Text), but Outlook is now sending winmail.dat attachments. I need
to send HTML to many recipients because of formatting within the email,
so please don't suggest I switch to plain text!

Outlook is also destroying any attachments I have and replacing it with
winmail.dat.

I have almost all the add-ins now disabled trying to isolate the
problem. The main thing still running is Panda Anti-Virus. Mail Filer
Pro was also recently bought and installed but is now disabled. I even
disabled Panda for a few emails to see if that's the problem - it wasn't.

All of this is very bizaare. Outlook has been working just fine until
last week. Tried a repair several times, even an uninstall/reinstall,
but to no avail.

I LOVE my Outlook (have used all versons since it was released) and I
synchronise my PDA as well, so using Thunderbird as I've had to for the
last few days, isn't an option. Cute program but lacking in features I'm
used to in Outlook.

Any suggestions? Help from an expert will but much appreciated.

Cheers...
Sue

Pat,

Yes I know all that. It's just telling me to change to text which isn't
want I want. I want to know why this is happening all of a sudden, after
using Outlook 2003 for ages without it happening! And whether there's a
solution other than changing to text-only messages. I need the HTML
messages and attachments be preserved, not changed into winmail.dat!

Reposting... I didn't get many responses before and I still haven't
solved the problem. Hoping someone can help!
Cheers...

This can happen if an Outlook custom message form is involved.
