HTML editor- A simple program?

Can anyone recommend a simple HTML editor?
I make up ads for eBay and their HTML editor is
too rustic, for my creative needs.

I know HTML, but wish to find a simple program
that can do a lot of the tedious tasks,
adding images, tables, etc. without
spending hundreds of dollars for such a program.

Any recommendations from users who have used
a program, rather than hearsay would be appreciated.
