A few days ago I bought a new Compaq Presario V5102NR. After what felt
like an eternity of reconfiguring, installing new software, and
trimming out silly HP/Microsoft processes that didn't need to be
hogging system resources, I was left with one last extraneous process:
HpqToaster.exe. Its location is C:\Program
Files\HPQ\shared\HpqToaster.exe
It's clearly a piece of HP software, but the msconfig interface doesn't
provide an option to disable it at bootup. I'd delete it outright but
there isn't a single site anywhere that even acknowledges this file's
existance so I have no idea what its purpose is.
Does anybody have any info on what this process does and how to prevent
it from loading?
