Hi,
I'm trying to install XP Pro on a brand new 80GB Western Digital HD.
I tried installing first from boot disks off Microsoft site, but when
I got to the last disk it crashed because of an hpn.sys error. So I
installed Windows 98, then ran the install from the XP cd, and when
the install got to the blue windows xp setup screen I got the message:
"Error - The file hpn.sys is corrupted"
I haven't been able to find much info on this on Microsoft's web site
or the web.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks in advance!

Try booting from the cd instead of using the setup boot disks. You may have to go into your bios and change the boot order so that the cd rom is the first boot device.
