hp3300 digital printer-copier-scanner

I have a hp laserjet 3300 digital printer-copier-scanner.
i have a new dell computer with windows xp. my printer
and copier portion of the hp 3300 work great, but when I
attempt to scan it sends message "not set up on pc".
please help. are windows xp and this all in one
scanner "compatible"?

HP released an update to the software in July..... you might want to
download it and see if that helps...
