HP network scanner and DHCP

The HP 9200c Digital Sender worked when a Linksys router was the DHCP
server, but as soon as I disabled that and added the DHCP role to the 2003
server, the scanner says it can't find the network path. Restarting the
thing doesn't help. Anyone familiar with this?
 
My gues is that the computer it's sending to has lost it s lease as a result,
and therefore its IP address has changed. Computers receiving data of this
kind really need a fixed IP.

Thanks, but the server receives the data, and naturally it has a fixed IP.
The scanner's menu system doesn't seem to have a place to enter other IPs.
