HP microtowers cloning! help asap!

Hi i have two identical hp computers and they both came with xp pro oem installed! i configured and installed all the programs on one of the computers and now i just want to clone the configured computer to the unconfigured one! is it enough to use ghost to clone the hard drives? do i need to use sysprep because the product id is the same on both comps when they were delivered from HP? How can I check to see if the SID is different for the comps so that no trouble will occur?

The SID is always going to be different for different computers.
Did you purchase the additional licenses for all the programs you
want to install on the second computer?

The product activation key on each of the machines will be different.
If you are using one of the tools that claims to display the product
activation key on a running machine you may be only seeing the OEM
activation key used for the bulk install. Your real Activation Key is on
the Certificate of Authenticity sticker on the body of the PC.
The Product ID however may well be the same - this has nothing to do with
product activation.

If you are going to use a cloning process then you will need to use SYSPREP
to prepare the machine for duplication.
This will (by default - but read all the documentation on the proper use of
SYSPREP first) reset the setup process on the machine such that after
cloning and the boot off the cloned drive it will regenerate a new SID for
that machine. You will also have to enter the Product Activation Key for
that machine and possibly activate it too (you may not if the install is a
"BIOS Locked").

Please familiarize yourself with the documentation around SYSPREP and
understand the difference between the Product ID that you see on the System
Properties tab and the Product Activation Key that you enter during
"install" and is unique to the machine.
