What exactly is it doing... or not doing? The drivers for the 711c are
included with XP... it should just be a matter of your running the Install
Printer Wizard and connecting the printer via the LPT port.
 
If Karen is having a problem similar to mine it is the following:

When I installed a new hard drive with Windows XP, the printer failed to P&P
install. I was given the option of manually installing it which I did but it
will not print. It does not appear in the device manager (although the port
does). The printer in my scenario is Deskjet 722C. I have walked through
the troubleshooting: uninstalling the port, trying a different cable, power
off, rebooting, printing from DOS prompt...

The HP website says the Windows XP driver is all that is needed.

I am also having a problem with installing deskjet722c I contacted HP and
they said it is a XP problem?
