for the application recovery that comes with hp pavilion 764n...im
looking for the real name of the file and the path so i can restore it
to my start up..and restore some of the programs it took with it
too...thanks a lot nortons...have looked everywhere for the file and no
help is coming from HP but that is no surprise either..thx to anyone who

Use Find to search for HP Pavilion PC Tools where you should find HP Application
Recovery and HP PC System Recovery.
Or use XP's Restore to restore to a time/date prior to problem.

Brian..thx for the fast response..sry about the delay coming back..was
rebuilding father-in-laws computer after he crashed his pavilions hard
drive..(what irony lol)..i have no way to find the hp tools...i was
able to manually find the file for system recovery and rebuid that
shortcut but there is no folder for the application recovery that i can
get to..it is possible that the folder and file itself is gone in the
deletion..(yes im viewing all hidden and system files)..as to the
restore option..no restore point is available to me...something
happened there as well...thats why was hoping for file name so i could
manaully search for it and restore the shortcut if the file still
exists...i know i can restore computer with system recovery and it will
be back but when i think of all that will have to be redone to bring it
back to this point, i cringe at just the thought of countless hours of
downloads in security patches alone (arggggg)..this system was bought
about 6 years ago...can u imagine the updates and changes since then
(lol)..thx for the speedy response..ill keep pecking away at this till
i have no choice but recovery as a last resort...thx ....Tony
