Hi - please don't type in all caps. It's hard to read and is considered
"shouting".

Go to tools, email accounts, view/modify email accounts, and change the
"deliver new email to the following location" to the PST file you wish.
Finish the wizard and close/re-open Outlook. You can then delete the PST
file you don't want in the properties of your profile (control panel, mail)
if you wish.

Many thanks for the help sorry about the caps.

Lanwench,
I wish I would have read this yesterday because I did it wrong and now need
help to fix up. What I did was copy all the folders and files, from my backup
"personal folders" folder, into the default folders and they work fine
including getting e-mails, but I can't now delete the added folder. I tried
deleting the .pst file that helped create it but that did not work. In
outlook when I clicked on the "personal folders" I want to delete it simply
said the .pst file didn't but still wouldn't let me delete. Can you assist?

Removing a pst from within outlook doesnt delete it, it simply removes the
pst from outlook.
You cannot remove the default pst (The one set as the msg store)

"said the .pst file didn't " makes no sense, what is the actual msg?

There was no message, there was simply no option to delete the folder group.
I had previously restored a .pst file into the newly installed outlook on my
new computer that was backed up from another computer and then simply deleted
it. I did nothing with the folder just deleted it). When I tried to delete
the latest folder set that I had restored (after having played around with
it) there was no option to delete. I have no used the remove folder option
and it is no longer sitting on the folder list, so hopefully that will do -
will it?
You should also note that I was trying to work out how to do restore and I
tried all sorts of things that ended up me restoring and deleting the extra
folder set a number of times. I never tried to delete the default folder
group that established itself when I installed outlook.

How to restore old / another data file is asked and answered here on a daily
basis

One assumes all is ok now

Thanks DL, I didn't know this forum existed until yesterday and it has proved
extremely valuable so far. I wish I knew about it years ago. As I learn I
will get more familiar with finding out how to search for answers to my
problems.
