How to wake up the PC?

Hello all:
My Pc's OS is win2000,and when I was goning to disuse the PC for a long
time,I do that:Start=>shut down=>wait.But I wanted to use it,and I pressed
everykey in keyboard,it couldn't be woken up.I want to know how to wake it
up.thanks.

have you tried pressing the on/off switch?
