How to view .pcx files in Outlook 2007?

With the Picture and Fax Viewer? What happens if you just double-click

The Picture and Fax Viewer can't view .pcx files.
If I just double-click on the file, a dialog appears and asks me to "Open"
or "Save" that file.
It displays "No viewer is installed" if I select "Open".
I'm wondering why Outlook can't view .pcx files automatically.

pcx-files can be opened by a multitude of free photo editor applications.
For instance, IrfanView.
Previewers are not part of Outlook but a part of the application that adds
support for that file type. For instance, the Word Previewer is a function
of Word 2007. If you were to install Outlook 2007 but not Word 2007, then
the Word Previewer is not available either.
