Hi,
I have 2 network connections (1 wireless and 1 cable) to my computer and I
want to use a specific one of them for my internet / outlook express- how do
I select that the connection should go through e.g.. the wireless adaptor?
Your help is highly appreciated.
Thanks
Ole
One solution is to enable the network connection that you want to use
and disable the one that you don't want to use.
Another solution is to remove the default gateway address from the
connection that you don't want to use.
If both connections are enabled and both of them have default gateway
address, Windows uses the one with the lower metric value. By
default, it automatically assigns a metric value based on the network
connection's rated speed:

To make Windows use a specific connection when both of them are
enabled, assign a metric value to each one, giving the lower value to
the desired connection:
1. Open the Network Connections folder.
2. Right click the desired connection.
3. Click Properties > Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).
4. Click Properties > Advanced.
5. Un-check "Automatic metric".
6. Enter a number between 1 and 9999 for the "Interface metric".
