Hi, I installed windows xp last night and did so
incorrectly and would like to know how to correctly
unninstall it. I also have an xx over one of my icons on
the start up tool-bar (first icon on right side-furthest
to the left) that gives the message "network cable
unplugged", any idea what that means or how to correct?
Thanks nicksfolks

And if you did not install as an upgrade (see Bruce's reply), Boot the
XP CD direct. Enter Setup, and after the license agreement take New
Install. When it asks you to confirm where, hit ESC; select and delete
the current partition and make a new RAW one to be formatted at the next
stage. That will clean off the disk and do a clean install.
