How to undo changes to file even after saving?

Okay, this is the situation. I have my resume saved on a floppy disk. I went
to open it, and instead of hitting the "open file" button, I hit the "save
file" button, not realizing it, and then double-clicked on my resume to open
it. Instead of opening it up, it re-did the file, erasing my resume and
leaving a blank document. Is there ANY way at all to fix this? Please, I
really really need this help.

Not sure I understand the process of saving as automatically deleting,
someone else might be more familiar with that type of occurance. Are you
sure you didn't press "Format" or "Compress"? What version of Word or
other program is being used to open the document? Run ScanDisk to check for
errors, place a checkmark next to "Automatically fix errors if found". Then
try again.

Look at the Properties content for this floppy. Check to see if the number
zero is next to file size. If you see any number, no matter how small, you
still have something in there.

Nicole saved Document1 (or some other open empty document) as her résumé
instead of opening the résumé file. I don't think there's any way to recover
from this. But she shouldn't have been trying to open it directly from a
floppy, anyway; this would have guaranteed that she would lose the file
eventually.

FWIW, an *empty* Word document is about 19 KB.
