How to turn on the hibernation funtion for a laptop

Hi, I had to reinstall window on to my laptopand now I dont have the
hibernation option when shutting down. I was told by a microsoft consoltant
that it is possible in windows somwhere but tech support was very busy and
there would be along wait, so he directed me to here.

Can anyone tell me how to turn on this option please.

Also another Q..
When booting up it give me an option to choose 2 windows operating systems.
1 is the 1 on my HD the other just errors, says something about drive not
being ready or unavailable. I have installed many OP systems and never had
this before. Can it be fixed so it just boots normally with out this option
being showed.

Control Panel > Power Options
Hibernate tab

When booting up it give me an option to choose 2 windows operating systems.

start > run
msconfig
Boot.ini tab
Check all boot paths

For Hibernation
==========

1. Click Start - Control Panel - Power Options - click Hibernation tab and
make a check mark on "Enable Hibernation"

If the Hibernation tab is missing then what you need to do is reinstall your
Display Drivers from your Motherboard / Display Card CD or download them from
Manufacturer's website.

For Boot List
========
1. Right-click on My Computer and choose Properties
2. Click Advanced tab and then click Settings button under Startup and
Recovery
3. Uncheck the option "Time to display the list of operating systems".

Meanwhile, you can also click the Edit button and can remove the unused OS
line carefully.
