Hi

I have search and searched for info. on how to enable remote desktop in
windows 2000 server so that I can connect to it from win xp! I know how to
turn it on in xp pro but I don't know what steps to do on the 2000 server. I
don't want to mess up the server so can someone outline each step I need to
take please! I have read that it involves installing terminal services
through add/remove programs and that there are two different modes! Please
explain the steps I need to take!

Thank you

It's called Terminal Services -

If you don't have a Terminal Services Licensing Server, and haven't
purchased TS licenses, you can use only Admin mode. This supports two/three
(?) concurrent logins by admins only. Application mode requires a TS license
server & licenses.

What is your goal? What is it you want to connect to? What's running on this
server? If you're an admin who just wants to log into the server console
from the comfort of his own desk chair, install TS in admin mode and go to
town. If you need users to log in to run apps, etc., you need a dedicated TS
box and license server etc etc etc.....
