My old Aptiva died and I have disassembled it leaving only the tower. Both
computers have Windows XP. What I need to know is how do I get only the
stuff I want from one to the other, I do not have a Windows XP CD, it came
pre-installed. I do not have a floppy drive in the new computer, I have the
DVD/CD burners instead.
Do I have to purchase anything to expidite this process? Is is possible to
use the same cable that my DSL uses?
My knowledge of how to do things isn't bad, but I have virtually no tech
talk vocabulary. I guess I am of the KISS generation.
Thanks so anyone who can offer help with this!

Thank you Carey, these are valuable links, but do not really answer my
questions. I still don't know whether or not the cable I have will work, etc.
