How to sum totals in Excel if cells contain a formula?

I have to display a value in a cell using the IF function. I then have to
calculate the total of those values. I enter the SUM function to calculate
the sum but Excel only returns the value $0.00. The sum would clearly be more
than that but I just don't know how to get Excel to sum it up for me.
 
Sam, you might want to ask this in an Excel newsgroup. This newsgroup is
dedicated to the Microsoft Access database product. The Microsoft website
may have misdirected you.
