I would like to know, indepth.. how to stop anyone from even starting windows on my home computer. Have kids that I do not want to even be able to bring windows up.. I know there is a way.. but how?
Some one send me a web site please.. or email me where to go and how to do this?

Karol,

Assign a BIOS password:

Start your computer, and start pushing DEL key.
That will take you to BIOS setup screen.
Find Password options, and assign password (s)

Good Luck!

Karol -

If getting rid of the kids is not an option, enable a password in the BIOS.
Go into setup at boot time ( usually hit the DEL key) and enable the BIOS
password there.

Good luck -

And the kids will figure out how to get around that almost as fast as
Karol forgets what the password is.

Secure the computer or teach the kids right from wrong and delete all
that porn off your computer before they find it. ;-)

If you are using Windows XP professional and/or Windows 2000 professional then ensure all user accounts are password protected. Also ensure the GUEST account is disabled. some people also disable booting the system from flopp or CD Rom or Network! Please note you will need to remember your own password or else it will lock you out as well!!

It has been suggested to protect your system via BIOS password. How to get into BIOS configuration menu is not standard on all machines. Some machines use F2 function key or even F8.

hope this helps.

ps: Germans are out of the EURO 2004 so ENGLAND has got a better chance of winning this time!!!! Watch the space here:
