How to stop "Synchronized Scrolling" in Excel Workbook comparing

The online assistance tells how to scroll simultaneously through two Excel
workbooks while comparing them. It says to click that option if you want to
do it. I do not click it and it still does it. I do not want to scroll
through them simultaneously. Can you turn this feature offoff? Any help
anyone can offer will be much appreciated.
