My Kaspersky AV is blocking a program classified as "invader" many times a
day.I can't clear it.Is there a way in windows I can stop enabling it to
start automaticaly ?

It depends on what "invader" is. Is this an application that you have
installed? Try to find out what it is and where it's located on your computer.

I am also having the same problem, It is named something called "dumb"
something I am not sure about it...Is there anything I can do to prevent a
program from executing each time in Windows XP (control Panel)

Since you quoted nothing, I have no idea what the "same problem" you are
having is.

Is that the name of a program? Please provide a complete accurate name.
Don't make people trying to help you guess. If they guess wrong, you get the
wrong answer.

Sorry, I have no idea what you mena by "Windows XP (control Panel)." Do you
mean that a Control Panel applet starts every time you boot? Do you mean
that every time you go to the Control Panel, this program runs? Please
clarify exactly what the situation is.

I meant the exact problem is happening with me I too have Kaspersky Anti
virus Installed and it is blocking a program from c:\programfiles\
directory.I think it is some sort of spy ware (If I am correct I installed
this one, a smiley application add on for Internet Explorer)

It is the name of the .exe that pops up every time

Sorry to hear that, I will try to make more detailed explanation later (I am
a Usenet beginner so just trying to learn the feel of community :) )

I meant is there is some way I can do something to stop this program
starting from control panel, I have read about it somewhere, you need to give
the path of the .exe file and it will be blocked from starting.I wish to know
how is that done.

Can anyone help me in how to do this? Or is this impossible ?
Any help, links are appreciated :)

"Invader" is a term coined by Kaspersky. For help with Kaspersky
software: http://forum.kaspersky.com/

To get help in this newsgroup you need to supply the name of the program
or the name of the executable that starts the program.

In general, to prevent a program from starting with Windows:
1 - Open the program, go through its menus until you find the setting
that starts the program with Windows, turn that setting off.
2 - Remove the program's shortcut from your Startup folder.
3 - Contact the program's technical support.

Thanks for taking time but I don't want to prevent it from startup
only but prevent its entire execution..is there any way to do that?

I wish to explain what I meant once more so that you may be able to
help me.

As I said the program ( "dumb.exe", from the directory c:/program
files/smiley/dumb.exe ) is poping up randomly and my anti virus is
classifying it as an "invader", but unable to provide anymore detail
about it as it is not available in their database of malware problems.

Kaspersky is also showing that it is (dumb.exe) is trying to attack
(inject)Internet Explorer..I think you got an idea about what is the
problem I am facing now I need to stop this from starting up
automatically (don't confuse that I need to stop this from windows
startup folder) while I work with Windows.

Thanks for spending your time; any links, suggestions, or software
references will be very great..Hope these details are enough (My
machine is an Windows XP SP2)

I have mentioned that this is a spyware..so uninstalling is not an
option.Instead I have found a way to do it in gpedit.msc

I think I can stop the program from starting..anymore links on gpedit would
be nice

Thanks for your time
| Sure, uninstall it.

Only if the malware writer is particularly stupid, which is not likely
since most malware today is written by highly skilled professionals,
who've heard about the Group Policy Editor.

I need some more info on general policy editor can anyone of you give me some links to learn more about it ?
