Hello, I daily go to my favorite news site,
either at home or at work, and it loads the
daily news stories for my job. Alas, after about
two or three minutes, the page "automatically refreshes"
and reloads my exact same page I am reading.

This, of course, is meant to "refresh" the page
with the latest news etc. However, these types of
websites RELOAD the page every few minutes, even
when I'm right in the middle of reading a news
article. It is very annoying. Is there anyway to
prevent this?

Thanks!

Is there anyway to prevent this?

Yes, but it depends what it is causing it. For example,
if it is META Refresh you can disable that in the Security tab;
if it is JavaScript you can disable that there too as Active Scripting.

Is there a publicly accessible example you can cite?

Internet options, advanced tab, uncheck Allow meta refresh.
