how to stop file auto-launch ?

Hi,
How can I stop a file from launching itself after it has been downloaded.
It does not even save to disk. Running sp2/ie7. Thankyou.
 
Hi,

It always saves downloaded files - but to Temporary Internet Files.

Use Save button instead Run.

Open Windows Explorer and go to Tools | Folder Options | File Types.
Scroll down to the file type in question and select it.
Click Edit or Advanced, depending on your Windows version.
Check the box for "Confirm open after download".
