Recently, windows has been completing items, such as my bank account number,
which I do not want shown. What do I do to change this so that these things
will not be automatically shown?
Thanks very much for any help. I am quite concerned about this.

In Internet Explorer go to Tools, Internet Options, Advanced and uncheck Use Inline Autocomplete. You may also want to go to the Content tab and click AutoComplete. Here you can excercise some control over what entries will even be eligible for autocomplete.

Thanks very much, Doug, for replying so quickly. I went to the Content tab
and deleted all previous completions, which fixed my bank page.
Interesting that the Use Inline Autocomplete was not checked, but was still
happening in some situations.
Thanks again

Inline means that it will autocomplete, as you type, in the form field, address bar, etc. Just autocomplete, will give you a drop down list of things that have been typed in that box, and it will adjust to match what you're typing.
