how to stop a program from trying to install itself during startup

I recently upgraded from XP home to XP pro, and now one of my programs (a CD
label creator) always opens when I start Windows and tries to "configure"
itself and wants the installation CD (which I no longer have) and I have to
hit cancel a million times because the configure window keeps popping up;
finally it stops and I can go about my business. This software IS still
functioning fine on my computer though, I can open it from the icon and use
it fine, but still every time it tries to reinstall/configure itself. I'm
guessing I need to delete something from regedit. Any tips? Thanks!

See if unchecking it in msconfig > Startup Tab helps
Or delete any entries in
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run Keys
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run Keys
rgds
