How to start windows xp pro in safe mode with a usb keyboard

Can anyone tell me how to start windows xp pro up in safe made with a usb
keyboard. Keyboard doesnt work untill windows is loaded. I ahve looked around
and could not find an answer

Check out this site, also you might check the Bios for the support. You could
get another PS2 Keyboard or a USB to PS/2 adapter.

If uou use the adapter, it has to be the kind for a keyboard. The ones
for mice don't work (different pinouts).

Not sure about XP pro but XP home is this:
Start | Run | msconfig - go to boot.ini tab, put a checkmark next to
/SAFEBOOT
