Sorting is on the Table menu, even though the text to be sorted does not
have to be in a table. In the Word help, this is considered to be sorting
"lists", but the paragraphs don't have to be anything related to a list,
either.

Select the desired paragraphs (or select nothing if you want to sort the
entire document) and click Table > Sort. In the dialog, the Sort By box
should already say "Paragraphs" and the Type box should say "Text". Choose
ascending or descending order. If you want the sort to be case-sensitive,
click the Options button and check that option. Click OK.
