PowerSpec 9140a Desktop XP Pro w/SP2 and all updates nVidia card ti4600 120
Mb HD 1024 RAM...

Hello,

At 43% chkdsk /r I was informed that I have unrecoverable errors on my HD --
now I'd like to slave my data to my notebook (or other desktop system) to
recover my data before junking it.

Can anyone help me or direct me to instructions re how to slave a drive to
another?

THANKS!!

Goob

I Have no Idea what a PowerSpec 9410a is.........
What we need to know is what type of HD connection it
has...SATA...PATA....??
If Sata you need to find another system that has a SATA controller and just
hook it up..
If PATA you need to find another system that has PATA ,change the drive
designation from Master to Slave by means of the jumpers on the back of the
drive...connect it to the middle connector on the EIDE cable...plug in the
power and turn the system on.
It should automatically bee seen and you can then try to save what you can.

Sorry for my mental margarita! I'll check my Belarc summary as soon as I get
home and post back what type of HDD it is.

Thanks again...Goob
