I am using Office XP and would like to show zeros as "slashed", like the old
HP calculators used to do to eliminate any confusion with "O". This is
especially sensitive in passwords and logon ID's. This option should be
available in Excel and Word.

One of the easiest ways is to use a font which has a significant difference
between zeros and O's. Old English is one of them. I'm sure there are
several on the web.

You need a slashed zero font type.

I downloaded one(Arial Slashed Zero) from the 'net long time past for free.

Several here...... http://www.qsl.net/wa6axe/fonts.html including the one I
use.
