When I am on a website and I see a person's name listed. I try to click on
the person's name in order to e-mail the person. I always get the pop-up:
"Could not perform this operation because the default mail client is not
properly installed." How, then, do I set up windows to be able to access
e-mails like this?

Thanks,

John D

How do you normally send emails, when you're not doing so via a web site?
Which software?

Start -> Programs -> Set Program Access and Defaults (or something
close to that to set default mail app). Also your email program should
allow you to set it as default for mailto: links under tools -> options
somewhere.

Email programs? Outlook, Outlook Express (already installed on your PC
generally), Thunderbird etc...

Dear Dutch,

Thanks.

But, there is nothing like "set program access and defaults" (or anything
like that) in Start > Programs.....

What now?

Once you see the Custom option in "Set Program Access and Defaults",
CLICK it...
